Flash is about 6 years old.  He still needs some help with potty training, so a home where somebody has the time to work with him would be ideal.  He has some reservations about other dogs; therefore, I recommend he be only around well adjusted, calm dogs.  Because he is a little insecure, he might enjoy a calm, confident companion to guide the way.  He loves going for basset-speed walks, so a person who enjoys daily strolls would be the perfect fit (he currently goes on 3 per day).  A fenced in yard to explore would also be preferable.   He is a total snuggle bug (he would love to be held and rubbed all day long) and will fall asleep in your arms.  He knows no commands, but, because he is food motivated, he is teachable.  He is gentle about taking treats and has shown no food aggression.  Currently, his favorite sleeping spot is in an open crate, and he sleeps through the night.  He is non-destructive and does not have any separation anxiety (he currently does have a second basset for companionship and is left with treats and puzzle toys).  He has not yet been evaluated around kids or cats.
